Greens are for social and environmental justice.
Greens are committed to a world where nations are respected, where trade is fair, where countries become self-sufficient in food and energy, where food is not controlled by vast multinationals or GM giants, where energy is from renewable sources, where we can be proud to teach our children about the world and our country's role in it.
In one year, the Green Party has gone from 13k to over 52,000 members.
Be a part of it. :)
Meanwhile ... the wealth of the 1% has rocketed. We're now seeing inequalities not seen since Victorian times.
Since 2009, average wages in Yorkshire have declined by 15% in real terms (GMB) yet last year the UK was announced as home to the most billionaires per head!
The 13 years under Blair and Labour were little different and saw the incredible bailout of an estimated £1.5 TRILLION to the Banks (Pilger), billions thrown into an immoral war and PFI sweetheart deals now estimated to cost the NHS £300bn. (Guardian)
An unequal society is a sick society. After 13 years of Labour, the NHS is even further along the road to privatisation than ever. Soon only wealth will buy health.
Labour's commitment to war then continues now under the Con-Dems. First Afghanistan and Iraq, now further wars with Syria, ISIS, and maybe Ukraine and Iran.
And, by the way, Iraq was not a "mistake" - as Labour try to re-write history. Iraq was cold-calculated, deliberate policy 'with the facts fixed around the policy'.
And a million dead.
We can do better, for ourselves, for our children, for the future, for this one Pale Blue Dot that we all inhabit.
